Tie Dye by Anna Williams

The basic things needed to tie dye are a white cotton t-shirts, salt, rubber bands, procion dye, plastic gloves, a way to apply the dye (squirt bottles or eye dropper and small containers), a place to apply the dye (a plastic container or on top of a plastic bag), and a creative mind.

·         Put 100% cotton t-shirt in the washing machine and wash regularly. Or just get it damp.

Lay wet t-shirt flat on a table.
Grasp the middle of the t-shirt and twist into a spiral or any design that you would like.

Tie with skinny rubber bands.

After you have the fabric banded you are ready for the dye. You want to set the dye with something. You could use slat, or vinegar or some other things. You mix the dye with water according to the ratio .

When you begin to apply the dye you don’t want to use too much dye or the colors with just mix together and it will come out in a really weird color.

After you dye it you want it to sit and settle. But you don’t want it to dry. So put it in a bag

After a day or two you want to throw it into the washer by itself (so it does not dye any other cloths) and there you have it.
